This'll be a looker Kit, the stripes match the curvy Spitfire wonderfully.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Cut the wings and you have a slick Reno Racer! Looks beautiful, reminds me a bit of the Thunderbirds?

It does a bit
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wait till it's done, more decals on tonight.  ;)

I think I'll build the Tucano too, just to show people a 'matched pair' of Jubilee aircraft.

Now that is looking bloody gorgeous. Could this be one of the best looking Spits ever seen on here??

Really? I'm amazed, it looks so UN-like any other Spitfire I thought people would be horrified.

Tonight's work.

It's a REAL fiddly job as every stripe is a separate decal and they're very thin at the pointed ends and try to roll up. But it's getting there.

Getting there`s an understatement Kit. It`s looking pretty much there already.

Absolutely fantastic work with obviously balls of steel patience.

Very very clever Kit.
I for one would appreciate (maybe in your blog?) more insight regarding the making of the decals, plase.  I've done it a couple of times using paint on clear decal sheet, and I've tried decal making with my inkjet printer but with limited success - the finished product being way to thick to be convincing, so I guess a lazer printer is best?

I appreciate the admiration, thanks. Wait till it's finished, it should REALLY look good then though.  ;D

I haven't got a blog Dave, I'm not sure what I'd do with one if I had one and where would I keep it? The house is jam packed with models, bikes, books, clothes, ducks, knitting and rocks (the latter four being Mrs_PR19's....)  ;)

I'll do a separate posting on my method of home-made decal production though, BTW mine are done with an inkjet, not a laser.

Btw, when it's done, can I have permission to re-post those pictures in an alternate history context? Due credit would be given of course, but TTL Her Majesty rose to the throne earlier since George VI was killed in 1942...

By all means, I'd be flattered.  ;D

But QEII was only 16 in 1942...........

Sweet.

Well, someone takes over as regent (I can't remember the name off-hand, and my notes are unavailable right now) until 1944, when she formally takes the throne. An actual coronation ceremony will have to wait until after the war. Wouldn't want inconsiderate German or Soviet bombers interrupting proceedings, now would we.. :D

Honestly thought you'd pitched your camp in the Modeling Blogs section of the forum, Kit!
Interesting to see you use an inkjet - well it's either the printer, the decal paper or me wot's getting things wrong.

I've started a write-up on how I do it Dave, but I've been stricken with a vertigo attack at the moment and it'll be a day or so before I can get back to it.  :banghead:
