Genius...

Let's hope we can laugh at this as "whiff-on-the-box" artwork ten years from now.....

But maybe they are just responding to a Godzilla attack?  That's the reason for all the flames and stuff.

Wow ! Neat stuff. Three diferent types of attack helos, and the AAVs have one heck of a drop from that height ! Also like the Sea Eagle in the background. But, what is Operation Senkaku ? And since we're all over the age of 15, I guess ourmodelling skills are no longer heplful !

I don't think it matters what the Japanese put on a kit box lid, the Chinese will take offence if they want to.

It's a spectacular picture but the island is a lot bigger than what I understand the Senkaku ones are.

Nice PLAA J-10 fighter though...  Pity it's carrier got sunk.  No where to go now.

Bare in mind Lance that the 2nd ship never got the full Soviet weapons fit. But I dont doubt that her current owners have more than a few nasty surprises installed on board for the unwary/unwise

The carrier was sunk by the four invisible submarines. (Included in the box).

This might be a touch pedantic but I'm pretty sure a helicopter carrier would be part of a task force, not a solo operator. So, I'd figure it was probably a frigate, destroyer or cruiser that put a missile or 2 into the Kuznetzov-class carrier. Perhaps the one from which the Hyuga is being viewed in the box art!?

Plus, it looks like the J-10 has just taken a hit, probably from the F-15 flying just above & behind it.... So, maybe a flight/squadron of strike-fighters lobbed a few missiles at the Kuznetzov-class carrier, too.

Never mind who sank who....would they be that close ????
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Obviously not.   However, like Hollywood, you have to get multiple things into the frame for dramatic effect when you're painting or filming events.

Pellson, I've only seen pictures published showing the islands from other angles but now you've posted that one, I agree the one in the boxtop art is remarkably similar.  :banghead:
