The Wooksta!

It's almost out.

Opinion over on Britmodeller of the photos is universally "it's terrible"

Mind, I think the box art is very nice and the decal sheet is quite comprehensive.  However, for the likely £35 price tag, I'd rather buy a CMR kit, although they don't do an FB5.  I don't think that the Heller Vmpire has much to worry about!

Well you can get it a bit cheaper :-

The Instructions are there, but going of their track record to date with 72nd Aircraft it will be a beautifully moulded but deeply flawed model  :banghead:

It'll be cheaper from HLJ  - until it gets to the UK and HM C&E and their fascist lapdogs at the Royal Mail sting you with extra charges.

Yes but the HLJ will charge the same again for postage and that will trigger Customs duty and ParcelFarce Admin fees doubling the overall price, where as HobbyEasy will cost £4 postage, take just over a week and be delivered by Royal Mail without any of the import duty hassle you get with Japanese sourced items.

Stupid question time. Why do HLJ get stung for HM Customs duties and HobbyEasy not ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Because HobbyEasy is based in Hong Kong and not Japan.

How does that get them favourable terms at HMRC though? They're still not in the EU etc.

It might be a hang-over from the days of "Commonwealth preference"

Probably correct, they do occasionally check and charge, but with Japanese goods it does feel like that check and charge every time  :banghead:

Was going to echo Kit's remark, but you may be correct. Hong Kong of course is also a Freeport. I've never had a problem with imports from Hong Kong and I've brought a fair bit of Anigrand stuff in whereas two imports from New Zealand and I think they thought I was a dog trained to jump through hoops  :banghead:

Perhaps they get so much stuff from HK (a lot of EBay sales are from there) you are just unlucky to get caught, whereas imports from Japan are probably not as common and attract more attention ?

I'll get an old colleague to check the Tariff for me when she has time

Yes, it was the Op Sun Run set, but no I couldn't have got it from HE at the time as they didn't have it.

It was said that as Hase had only done very few of the decal sheets that the only source would be the various Japanese distributors amd who was I to know any different?
