Russia's Ekranoplans, Red Star Vol.8,  by Midland Publishing is a good reference for the Bartinis and much more beside. The lift engine proposal had twelve engines in four groups of three, located in the thick inner wing section between the fuselage and the sponsons. The prototype depicted in the model was later modified by adding a tubular plug behind the cockpit that provided mountings for two podded turbojets that exhausted under the wing leading edge, thereby pressurising the ground effect area, and fixed floats mounted on the sponsons instead of the original inflatable ones.

Uncle Bill's had a few, but sadly, now the shop is closed forever after Rick Chin died --- Don't know who bought up all the stock but it all went as a job lot.

I surely wish they would take the An-124 and create an An-225! I wonder if a conversion kit would be do-able.

Now, that is one I'd definitely be interested in!

Just saw that an E-150 is coming - finally!

Maybe we even see an E-166 with the weirdo rotating gun mount on the nose and/or the fuselage...?

Weaver

That E-150 is like the single-engined version of the Ye-152 Flipper isn't it? I could see one of those getting hacked about to make a single-engined Lightning or an AW.58...

Yup, the first of the heavyweight family. An E-152 would be nice, too, as well as an E-75 (the predecessor), and I am sure that an E-166 (final evolution) will follow, but probably "only" the normal, record-breaking machine with blue trim.

Weaver

The E-150 is now in at Hannants.

The ModelSvit 1/72nd Injection moulded Beriev Be-12 Mail has been released in Russia/Ukraine at about the same price as the Bartini.

So sod the Trumpeter Madge, we can finally get the more suitable Mail in plastic (Sprue shots on eBay confirm that the kit is Injection moulded and not part Glass Fibre as in their larger models.

News from Russia is that they are now doing a 1/72nd Il-86 airliner but given the size of that it will be Glass Fibre like the A-Monsters and their own AN-124 and Tu-144 (so silly money !).
