AH! The C-133 Cargomaster.
I have memories of one doing a lefthand break onto rwy 31 at Prestwick and coming right over my parent's house.
It was a brilliant clear autumn day with blue sky and no cloud.
It looked magnificent!
Bring it on.

News from a week or two ago, some new trash haulers have been announced in 1/144th scale.

C-5B Galaxy (due May, also C-5M in November)
C-133 Cargomaster (Nov)
C-141B Starlifter (July)

Other planey goodness
Cessna 0-2A in 1/32nd (July) and a Cessna 0-1/L-19 Bird Dog in 1/48th (Sept). Don't ask me why they aren't in the same scale, would have made a nice pair in the same size.

Paul Harrison

Roden already do the L-19 in 1/32.

Thanks Jon, I missed that one! Maybe get a new 1/48th 0-2 from them later, I don't build much in 1/32nd due to lack of display space.

1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

Great story JayBee !

I'm looking forward to it as well. I have a pair of 72nd scale vacs that I can now leave in their boxes forever, as I was probably going to anyway lol

But the Roden stuff will be 1/144 scale, half the size of your vacforms. I've got a 1/72 vacform C-141B too, it's HUGE!

I've long had an idea of doing a C-5 being loaded with a part dismantled F-117. This was how they were delivered from the Skunk Works to Groom Lake and Nellis AFB. Someone else can take it on!
Only really doable in 1/144 IMHO.

Roden C-5B Galaxy!

Of course I recently bought the uber rare Otaki kit, so a new 1/144 kit was bound to come out.

YouTube in box review.  Think the Otkai kit looks better, but great to have a new C-5!

That looks pretty good.

I bet Revell are kicking themselves that they didn't get one out first.

Have you seen the price?

https://www.megahobby.com/products/c-5b-galaxy-military-transport-aircraft-1-144-roden.html
$139.95 (list $164.95)

https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ROD330
£119.99

:o

I think if Revell decided to do one they'd easily beat that price point.

PR19_Kit

Indeed, I recall their An-124 cost me around £25.00 maybe 5 yrs ago, and that A-400M Atlas that I recently built was 'only' on sale for £45 at Telford this month.
