When I was a Civil Air Patrol Cadet in the early '70s, one of my week-long summer encampments was at Columbus AFB, here in Ms. There was a guy there, pilot, mechanic, I don't know, but he drove around in a '50s or early '60s stepside pickup truck that was painted in SEA camo and had stars and bars, ejection seat placards and a bunch of other aircraft placards on it. Usually when I saw it I was on the march or otherwise officially tied up and never did get a pic of it, but I always thought it was so cool.

Nice - thanks for sharing! I'd never heard of this before. Do you know the story behind the "train" car?

Is this a good point at which to remind people of the Smartfire and Messersmart?

Would be marching to the beat of his own drum, if he didn't detest marching to any drumbeat at all so much.

Saw a photo of a Trabant in the Luftwaffe Museum here in Berlin. It had been painted in squadron colours for use as a hack.

Would have more details but the local beers are blocking my mind!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Oh,Hell yes ... !!!!!!!   I love it ... !!!  I want to do one ......    Yep,Yep,Yep !!!!!!

I can think of many much better cars they could have done that scheme on.

In fact ANY car with that scheme would be better than putting it on a Trabbie!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Better, like a Fiat Panda???

They had quite a fleet at that Tiger Meet, the Trabbie, the Panda, a Ford Ka, a Volkswagen Transporter and even a Jaguar XJ!

So THAT'S why they all needed C-130 or C-160s as 'support aircraft'.  ;D

The Jag looks terrific, as does the Panda. Love the paw prints on the wheel discs!

Father, if you want to model it I've one more photo.  Unfortunately, I've never been able to find a shot of the rear.
