, you used to get a nice shiney two pence piece when you took the bottle back to the shop!
Now there was an incentive to recycle! :drink:

Well we got 3d (3 old pennies) I think, long time ago. But we had a little scam going. Bunk over the back wall of the pub come "offie", into the yard, borrow some empties and take them back in the front door. Got caught in the end of course. Bloke made us clean his cellar, it was either that or tell our dads, which would have been painfull. Latter wen you got older and told dad over a pint he told you that he and his mates had done the same thing

Now I just get €0.15 for an aluminum can, €0.40 for a larger plastic bottle, and I don't remember how much small bottles are.

Of course, I usually have to feed them into a machine myself and only get a receipt that can be cashed or used at the cash register.

But still a good system Pertime and should be encouraged

When I was a kid in the 50's we didn't recycle to save the planet we did it because Britain was skint ! (broke)

The copy of The Times for my birthday my friends got me is only 6 pages as we were so short of paper

I like that incentive better.  Aluminum or plastic, its only 5 cents, or whatever the state mandates the refund it to be.  And not all states refund recycles.

We get 10c for those in Alberta too plus milk cartoons (plastic or cardboard),   however ---- you pay a deposit when you buy them -- check the can/bottle/drink box and it should say and also should say on your check-out receipt

here in South Australia we get 10c for a aluminum cans, glass and plastic drink bottles, cardboard iced coffee types and even some fruit juice boxes. We are spoiled  comes in handy sometimes to go for a walk along roads etc, can make a bit of extra cash, as long as you don't mind handling trash...

Yup, all cans & bottles of soft drink (soda/pop/whatever), & flavoured milk cartons are marked with "10c deposit refundable on return to place of purchase in SA" (or something similar). Have had for almost 40 years, I think.

I believe the Northern Territory has gotten into the act now, too, & are included in the speil on the containers.

Yup, so (for a change) they're actually cheaper in SA than elsewhere, if you return the can/bottle/carton!

Mistels seem to be very popular, I love the Gnat/Canberra combo, very well thought out.

Hope they stay popular, only thing better than a aircraft is two ;D

Are the missiles on the Gnat's wingtips Harpoons? (the Gnat on the Valiant that is)

No, they're Red Tops, a Harpoon is almost as big as a Gnat.  ;D

I've just noticed the Canberra in the Mistel combo is a PR9. That's an odd concept, a kamikaze PR aircraft? How does it get the recce product back to base?  ;D

Was a PR9 surely?  Same as the operational German Mistel's had what had been a Ju88 as the lower part.
