Now THAT is fascinating! That's the most extreme instance of this I've ever heard of.  :o

"Decals finally arrived and she's good to go. Unfortunately the Fujiwara Tofu Shop decals were too small to go on the Hachiroku Phantom's spine like I intended so I placed them on her nose instead."

"I built this F4U Corsair for my wife. She wanted a paint scheme like the last helicopter I built. I also created custom decals for this bird. Even has her name on it."

When I lived in Berlin in 1978 there was a MASSIVE building at the north end of the street where my flat was, Hohenzollendam to anyone who knows the city, which was the offices of the National Insurance scheme (I think.......) and its title, being German, was almost as long as the building was wide!

It also had a tower block built behind it which was a very odd shape, in that one floor was seemingly missing, and all you could see at that level was a thick column in the middle which housed the lift (elevator....) and other services. I asked my colleagues at work why this was so, and they said 'It's the 13 th floor level, so they didn't build the floor'!

Haven't been into the building since the 80s, so they may have changed it, but there was one in Toronto that went above and beyond when it came to wimping out on the issue. The elevator buttons were labeled 10, 11, 12, 12A, 14, 15... They didn't have the guts either to put it in or admit to being superstitious!

There was a period in the 1960s and 70s when Belfast housing developments defiantly numbered 13 on each street ( I grew up in a 13 in that period ) but from the 1980s onwards they have again started skipping 13, particularly in spacious middle-class developments.  Odd.

IIRC there was a group of engineering students who bungee jumped off of their dorm building. Everything was carefully calculated out except for fact that the builders skipped number 13 when numbering the floors. Thud!

Mechanical Engineers would have measured the drop.  Just saying.

Like it!  Friend of mine has painted up one of his son's old star wars thingies as "His Majesty's Mastodon".....HMM Behemoth of the Syrtis Major group, as used to patrol Commonwealth territories on Mars. His model even flies a White Ensign.

Awesome ATAT.
I started painting one (full size action figure scale) as a youth (blue/aqua splinter camo) but lost interest.
Many things would benefit in a "Mystery Inc" paintjob.  Hmmm, where's that AAV-7...
