Inspired by Gavin Lyall's 'Shooting Script' perhaps?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Hinged inboard of the engines , wheels towards the centreline?
would give a nice wide track and probably enough room for a fcuk off big bomb/torpedo on the centreline or a fuel tank, only if no heavy weaponry in the nose(Pak40)
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

Captain Canada

That looks awesome ! Kinda familiar too, anybody seen it before ? Or maybe it was just in my minds eye.

I can see little wheels coming out from the nacelles themselves...and a longer tail wheel. Or maybe somat similar to the Barracuda arrangement ?

Move the engines to on top of the wing and keep the fixed spats...

The idea ain't bad, but I'd also worry about the nose... the Me 262 parts would never fit (without major sculpting work), and the landing gear is really tricky, due to the inverted gull wings.

Flyer

Forget the 262 nose, even though the side profile looks good with it. Maybe a Bf 110 nose instead. Or keep the Stuka's front end and spinner and PSR the scoops and exhausts etc off.

What the Hell, do the sculpting - it looks good!

Landing gear should be spats, of course! Just fit them under the engines on shorter legs! ;D

Many ideas look great in profile, but just don't work at all when viewed in the plan view.  FWIW, the cross-section of a 262 is triangular and very wide across the bottom, the 87 is a thin & tall oval ----
