I think the 'rule of longer wings' applies in this case ... I know fighters are build to be aerodynamically unstable, but I think this one is a bit too much ... It doesn't appeal to me, visually - and that's the point of what we build, surely?

I went to a local model show last weekend.  These guys have a reputation as 'rivet counters' - dental mirrors & flashlights, the whole schmear.  I went ready to scoff ... but had to bite down hard on that because these guys are _good_model_builders.  I didn't take any pictures, which I now regret, but ... the attention to detail, the shading, the weathering - pretty much perfect on some of the entries.  I was impressed in spite of myself.

I came away with the view that the hobby needs all of us - trivet counters like them and the unobtainium-wranglers like us, to bring out the best.

So, while I think it needs different/more wings - for what it is (the exploration of an idea), it's OK.

Where am I going?  And why am I in a handbasket?

There's a difference in rivet counters who also build (even if they build sh!te models) versus the rivet counters who don't and think they know all about said model.  These latter examples, aka the JMN, are the ones who deserve our scorn and derision.  The former, you can learn from - especially if they're critiquing the model.

It's a Land Rover, NOT a Jeep . Like a Jeep, but for gentlemen.

It's a lifting body fuselage. The wings are for stability and control. Anyway, that's my version of the story!

BTW, I didn't know there were even five rules of fisics!

Found on the Trekyards Nannybook group, that came up as a "You may like this" in the algorithms.

Y'know, the Proteus conversion is quite good - not something I'd have thought of.
Though I'd probably have made it a shuttle, but even so...

I like it! More imagination than many ST builds.
