Used to dream about a naval version of the A-10...should've reinforced the undercarriage tho.

kerick

Rumor is that the Marines were interested in the A-10 but it didn't leak enough......

I looked at it and thought "whats wiffed about that?" and then I thought "hang on, Navy?".

It looks good but the panel lines are too dark.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Way over done and not natural panel lines, for sure! That's not how planes "age" at all, you're right. When I get to the point where my weathering is decent (or even existent!) it will be random/where it should be and more like what we see on real planes.

Still, looks pretty neat I thought.  Looks better than my stuff.

Not a whiff, but this is just too cool not to share! Look at the bloke lying down!!!!

Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

I saw that out on FB within the last day or two myself.  They said it was up on pedastal that were airbrushed out but could you imagine?!  I think ol' boy there would get picked up and thrown around like a rag doll!   :o :o

That plane sure is cool. I don't recognize it.

There was a discussion about this photo on the forum some time ago, in the 'How low can you go' thread. The plane is a EE Canberra and the consensus was it was a photoshopped pic.

You guys had some canberras and turned them into the Martin B-57... still being used by NASA in one reincarnation or another

WB-57 high altitude research aircraft. The third one was pulled out of the boneyard and returned to flight status in 2013 after 41 years in storage.
Looks like a whiff already!

(Wish I knew how to make this pic smaller)

Tracked that WB-57 earlier this year on Flightradar24 when it flew over Scotland, didn't even spot it's trail coz it was a lovely Scottish Summers day i.e it was low, grey cloud and fully overcast!

NASA has flown quite an odd collection of ac over the years. Their must be a WB-57 conversion kit out somewhere.

You can buy a RB-57F kit from Mach II in 1/72, got one in the stash which I had started before my house move a few years ago, but it's still buried in the packing boxes.

And they did it by fitting LONGER WINGS!  ;D And a few other bits, like MASSIVE engines too.

There was an excellent vacform/resin conversion kit for the RB-57F that was originally done by DB Resins and was passed on somewhere else, but I know not where sadly.

The original issue of that conversion was the root cause of my Meteor PR19 because they did the engines in 1/82 scale at first. Not good for an RB-57F but PERFECT for a PR19.  ;D ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
