Full sized prop used in The Rise of  Skywalker in 2019. It was given to the Smithsonian in 2021 and has been on display since 2022 outside of the Einstein planetarium. The image is of when it was being checked over for damage after
being shipped to DC.

Full-sized props, and models, are used to a greater extent than people realize and practical effects have been making a comeback over the last few years. Partly because of younger directors who aren't wedded to using CGI for everything and prefer the look and feel of practical effects.

Has a 'luft' aspect about it, but not totally. Does look kind of cool. But, speaking of cool, how cool would the engine stay with the silly little amount of air that would get into that tiny rad scoop and around the prop spinner?
