Thanks, that's one of mine. It wound up at one of the big UK shows (Telford?) and was apparently well received. Somewhere in a corner of England there lies a part of Alvis.

747 derived heavily armed gunship

Do you remember why group this Gunship's photo came from?
The link is dead. It least for me.

Came from a page titled "Greatest aircraft that never were" or something similar. It may be a closed group...

Cannot find the image myself now, the 747 remided me of a C-5, it had it's wings re-located to the top of the fuselage and it had a T-tail, IIRC it was armed with at least 3 GAU-8's, howitzers etc. Looked mean, except the paintwork, it was the standard silver and blue stripes with 747 written up the fin. That's what I'm remembering anyhow

It does open an interesting concept, where a transport launched cruise missiles as either a frontal attack or a diversion when it's heading to the drop/ landing zone. I like that idea
