This beach house design from the Vault of the Atomic Age would make a great Sci-Fi merchant ship!  IMHO, of course.  ;)

It looks like it washed up on shore! Maybe that's the look they were going for

My thoughts exactly. I must admit though that as I looked at it, I started to quite like it  I think precisely because it has that washed up look.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

What kind of material is that made from? Looks like pored concrete. Building the forms for those shapes must have been a real trick

Is it real or a picture?  Hard to tell at that size.

It's be a bugger keeping those big glass walls clean and free from salt spray.
Now, would you want it facing East or West?

I'd guess it's a picture, simply because if real it would have been on one of UK T.V.'s "build your dream house" type programs ? However that's purely an assumption.

As for keeping those windows clean ? That's what the staff are for

Maybe the person in the blue shirt is one of the staff contemplating doing just that?

West.  I prefer sunsets to sunrises.

I've no great preference, but at a push would go for East. I do like being woken up by a sunrise, something so natural about it.

For a good few years I seemed to do work which required early starts and so got to see the sunrise regularly.
I found them preferable to sunsets for their greater colour range and exclusivity - I felt there were a lot less people looking at the sunrise than at the sunset.
Sunrises over the poo farm were always worth stopping and looking at and could look pretty speccy reflected in the sludge drying ponds.
I have some pics somewhere.

I know a company in Texas that could make those forms ... They do inflatable dome forms, so I guess they could do oval pipes and so on.

An all-green Sea Hawk should look interesting...

Yes, as the Sea Hawk looks quite fetching in green over white.

It's a CGI rendering by Dionisio González. If you visit http://www.dionisiogonzalez.es/, it's part of his "Dauphin Island" portfolio.

I like the retro-sf feel of these images - thanks to Scotaidh for spotting this.
