I have an acquaintance - of sorts - who, a few weeks after the Columbia disaster, was joking that he was now going to use firecrackers on his Columbia model, put the pieces in a cat box - an unused one with clean litter - and fill it with water. 

He really likes "shock humour". 

I don't like mean-spirited humour - humour intended to hurt.

That I considered to be very dark & in particularly bad taste at the time.
