I would have done the inside flying surfaces differently but, here ya go!

Yes, you and me both. 'Twins' with V'eed centre surfaces say 'Didn't think about it properly' to me.

It would also look quite goofy with the wheels down - while I like such twin builds, most constructors miss (beyond the connecting surfaces' shape) the landing gear, which typically ends up with a ridiculous wide track because the original (outer) wells are retained.

The idea is nice, though.

Fred, there is a photo somewhere - maybe even here - of a single-boom, single engined P-38 based Drone with fixed landing gear.

I made one as a PR version and it's a pretty easy project. You could use a 2-seater conversion as the control ship...

I'm having similar memories, of a lightening-derived drone, that pulled me into joining this website over a decade ago. But i recall it being blue or grey?

I recall the one, but can't find a photo. It may have been by buzzbomb? I saw it at the Australian Model Expo yonks ago.

It was like this one below, but something like PRU blue:

Whatever.

I can think of some neighbourhood's where even that might not be enough to ensure "it got through"  :-\

Nice build though and has me thinking of what a Royal Mail alternative would be ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

There'd be enough of them post WWII that's for sure. I know some got used on farms but I suppose most of the others just got broken up ?

I'd suggest that the obvious Royal Mail equivalent would be the Challenger II (maybe Challenger I, if you're doing a slightly earlier version).

Those are both good, but Star Wars is always re-interpreted as RAF vs Luftwaffe.
If it has to be WW2 (and I suppose it should be given much of Lucas' inspiration was movies about that war) then how about using some different air forces.
X wing in Italian smoke-ring camo for example or a Luftwaffe B wing.

I think some U.S. v. Japan ones would be neat.

This one is both by and found at "Point of view.HG" page. I believe his name is Hakan Guney.

"Westland LYNX HAS.3"

https://www.facebook.com/pg/povHG/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2337974276450053&__tn__=-UC-R    (I'm assuming it's public, I can see it and I didn't even join or like anything. There are many more pictures here and I suspect more interesting things on the page.) This is direct to the album for this, so if you want to see other things, click on the page name to get to the main feed. I'm going to check it out a bit myself!

EDIT: Well, now... imagine that....  I keep having coincidences about modelling. We were just talking about the Star Wars models.... sure enough, I go check the main feed and there was a Soviet "AT-RT" or some such.... looks pretty cool and has the red star of course.

Spotted this one yesterday. By Angelo Sparthis. Found on the 'Airliner-Civil Aircraft Modeller' page.

That looks VERY smart.

Indeed, but I'd utterly hate to see how much that paint would cost and/or weather.
