Yeah!!! I understand the whole "costs" aspect of it and what not but what they COULD have done is just have a single Tomcat (and one back up, naturally) to do solo stuff and perhaps even join in with the Hornets for a couple maneuvers. I bet it would have been wildly popular.

Though IIRC the Navy pilots tend to be either Hornet or Tomcat people - nothing in between, and for the Hornet folk to have given any concessions of time or airshow space to a Tomcat would have been unthinkable... 

But it would have made for an impressive display.

A zillion years ago RayHex did that T22 nose conversion, and there's been one more recently too.

Imagine the alternate markings, Israeli, and no I am not going to go any further!

I saw that today too, isn't  there a kit out of it either a&a or another  eastern European/ Russian outfit.  Or is that a different  Indian  aircraft.
