Yes, there is, or was, a kit out of the Marut not that long ago.

But not an Airfix one................

Alliance Models has/had one ...

Yeah, I knew there was one out there somewhere. Reading the review makes me even more certain that I want Airfix to do one!

I'm with you there.  :)  I've never built a resin model, and everything I've read about the building process reinforces that.  Maybe someday ... after all, I did eventually build a Vaccform.  :)

Well if Airfix did decide to make one, they don't have to go too far to scan one. Doing an image search reveals there's one at a German museum, only I don't know how old the photo is, to say if it's still there.  I'm guessing it is though ---

Are there no India model-kit manufacturers, then?

I believe Airfix was producing some there at one point.

I don't think that's a Whiff, I think it's real!

[Later] I checked and it is real. One of the few aircraft that flew in piston and jet engine versions.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

What was its purpose? I bet it was a blast riding in that rear compartment; imagine the view!  But...would it be loud as hell? Looks like it might.  ;D

Wiki tells us that the twin Nene powered NC1071 prototype suffered significant structural distortion  in flight.................at that shape, how could they tell?

It's a strange one, the 1070, always looks as though it was built from spare parts to me, but they didn't have a long enough fuselage so went with what was laying around.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Can't remember the name of the companythat issued it but the only Indian produced kit I know of was a 1/72nd NAL Saras, it's a T-tailed pusher-prop 14/19 seater. First flight was mid 2000's (maybe 2004?) and it was a joint design with Myasishchev. Rusians pulled out over lack of money and Indiana has stopped and restarted work a couple of times. Think it's back on for now with a tweaked prototype.
