Thanks! This will help me to draw it (with a twin derivative as double fuselage restoring the Lightning layout somehow...). <_<

Rick Lowe

It looks good, and certainly solves the dilemma of where to stow the landing gear!

My thought exactly.  The builder has solved the problem I was having with how to fit three things (a pilot, turbo and undercarriage) into the same space by eliminating one of the three.
Pilot's backside might get a bit warm though now given where the turbo is.
It looks magnificent.

As for the 737.  I know actors can be annoying but isn't bombing theatres taking things a bit too far?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

"Newest product from...."THE ARSENAL OF DEMOCRACY!!! Fresh in from patrol, a (1/72 scale) United States Navy Lockheed F-5-0-2Z Hornet. Based on the USN Island Class Zeppelin ZRS-12 U.S.S Nantucket Island, She is shown as she appeared during her service at the Battle of the Coral Sea, in May of 1942. (Built using parts from the bits box, and a goodly portion of a 1968 vintage FROG Lockheed P-38 Lightning)"

Woah there!  :o

I invented the Island Class airships back in 2012 to act as home 'bases' for the Convair F4Y-2 Petrel airborne interceptors, and backdated their history in the backstory here :- https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=34363.msg544086#msg544086

The Petrel build, as far as it got, is here too :- https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=34362.msg544085#msg544085

Actually checking on that Petrel thread it didn't even show the build. I started cutting plastic on it, but never posted any pics, so I should get around to that. AND finish the model too!

The guy who built that P-38 must be on here as this is the only place that the Island Class backstory ever appeared.

A cheap, low-intensity conflict medium/heavy bomber

Probably derived from the 737-800 Max as Boeing can't even GIVE them away at the moment.  ;D

Fascinating!!  Probably one of the lurkers over the years. Here's his FB profile, perhaps that'll jog something. https://www.facebook.com/HtheTurk?fref=gs&__tn__=%2CdC-R-R&eid=ARByu_KwsZMA59RwVylICV1sI9rwMFcr6bHfiWB58l_qAMx2dWjxTOpQ5u8HRQG1okNF_Hj67SKn5oRT&hc_ref=ARQSblczgHi0xAb8LpG_WJLsHDJwuxxPWJa5B2tQW2HgUnA752yHsuNn-TnzAyb07QQ&dti=1771720973126058&hc_location=group

Background is on the previous page. I just shortened Brad's post because I didn't want to quote the whole post.

Actually, Kit, with the plethora of 737-400 kits in 1/144 it wouldn't surprise me if that was the base

Tell me about it, I've got half a dozen of the multi-length 737s that DACO put out a few years ago. With that lot I could make a 737-100000000.  ;D ;)
