Quote from: Steel Penguin on December 11, 2024, 10:10:39 AM..but i have massively variable mojo at the moment, and am still trying to finish..

This is exactly how I work, and it can be unbelievably frustrating. I have found, however, that if I want to get anything at all built, I often have to let go of stalled projects, putting them to one side while going with the mojo flow I get as it comes along, building where the lust currently is. The downside is an enormous Shelf of DoomTM, but seen over time, it does mean I actually get more projects completed during a given period of time as I do return to stalled projects every now and then.

I don't know if this is anything that you can accommodate (i.e if you have space enough for a large enough DoS), or if it even would work for you, but it does work for me, so I thought I'd share.
May the Mojo find you!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Pellson   i have a very small shelf of doom,  mainly due to the fact that if i loose drive on a wargames project ( such as this one) i useully have multiples of the same thing to complete ( 2 more of this one ) so i have to be carefull or i loose units that take rather more room up partly done than all together.
The other problem is that i dont want to get into the start  / stop /restart cycle as that will quickly create a bigger pile than i can cope with...  so i generally just wait and then carry on, this one is not that far from finished.

ive ended up packing an army and a half , and a bitto be  stored in the loft,  My Games Workshop Tau  done in Berlin brigade style camo, and the small force i have for the Privater Press Warmachine game a Cygnar  force with warjacks, and a good couple of dozen Infantry done in the US tan brown black 3 colour desert style. the other box going with them contains my original Necromunda gangs,  a large Orlock band, possibly 2 or 3 gangs worth,  the not Delaques i got from the very fine Heresy miniatures, the Spyera gang and the bits and pieces i had. Ive not used the first for years the second for longer and the 3rd for possibly over a decade.   But after the trouble i had to try to regain my wood elf army after i got rid of a large chunk, im not going to sell them on.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

wile browsing  i came across new on the Ground Zero Games site http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/    it seems that they will have been trading for 40 years next year,  i know ive been purchasing for around  35 of them, and have never had problems,  in fact im fairly certain that Jon has a tame black hole for delivery's, as wile ive yet to have an order arrive before ive placed it  :o   Ive had a good many arrive the next day, even when offers have been on.  Wile they may not be everyone thing  have a look at the ranges,  i will say that the 25mm ranges are close to true 25 as well, and are truly wonderful,  If anyone remembers the small space ships ive had on the stand a few times they were the Full thrust UN deep range explorers.

You do realise that that phrase could/can start as big, if not a bigger, argument then Airfix's 2025 "New Kit" listing ?  ;)   ;D

its the kind of hot button argument, that any sane gamer rapidly avoids....  i just dont want anyone to think that the size would be simeler to anything from say Games workshop in the last 25+ years,

Or the 'Correct OD/Russian Green Shade' debate, or the 'What colour is behind the rear windows of early P-40s' wrangle; the list is long and fractious, and it seems a lot of people out there happily spend more time flaming each other than they do modelling or gaming. :banghead:
Life's too short and there's too much to build.
Though it can be fun to toss a grenade comment into the mix and watch the reactions...  ;D

Appreciated mate

I haven't got that many "armies" left, an Austrian Marlburian, Han Chinese and maybe one or two others ? Your comments have got me thinking about digging them out and measuring them  ;D

You have to have a little fun now and then...  ;)
And some people take themselves too seriously on occasion - myself included, though hopefully not as often nowadays.

I've mellowed as I've got older, but I do feel sorry for those who had to deal with me 30 or more years ago

I feel sorry* for those who've dealt with me at any stage... I seem to have a Default Mode of 'Spiky/Grumpy' and it only seems to be getting worse - I got the 'Intolerance Upgrade' somewhen along the timeline.

*Well, except when they deserve it...  ;)
