one of the ground zero games UN space command deep range explorers  ( very small scale starship)  the UNSC Ian M banks,  to go with the other 2 I have the UNSC Nation, and the UNSC Aaronovitch, the class are all named after sci fi writers, so if I ever see any others, ill have to ask the owners, just so I can gauge there reading tastes.

im also having a go at quick repaints on the second hand stuff I got at the start of the year,   a crane / recovery tank from old crow, and the light apc that goes with the ex GZG dropship   both 25mm wargames scale, so olive body metal derail and ID numbers, should give a quick turn round and the satisfaction of finishing summit

went to the Womborne club again yesterday had a good chat,  and managed to find the bits I need for the chally out of the other 2 kits in the single box they are packed into, Mrs SP took the 4ground medieval building she nearly finished last time, and folks were rather impressed, the teddy bear fur thatch seemed  to be something they hadn't seem before, and the western Livery stable she was working on got a few favourable comments. 

finished the I R A N from cosi, one of the wingtip wheels on the racing Harrier and both HARMs on the Phantom, so hopefully be able to have another go at the chally now ive some desk space again.

off to the womborne club again, took some of my British armour, Tamiya chally, desert chally and chieftain, and my academy warrior and managed to get the hulls on the chally 2 together  a nice couple of hours, but a good chunk of this morning and tomorrow morning has been involved in helping a friend clear stuff out of their basement before they moved house my legs!  stairs lots and lots of stairs.

Mrs SP found out via facebook earlier this week that the local cemetery was having an open day for its Japanese garden, with members of the Japanese garden society in attendance,  something neither of us had heard of before, so a trip was taken  and we both went   it may well be a place for me to stop off at on my occasional to and fro, to Cosford, for a quiet sit and possibly a photo and try to draw ( I cant draw for toffee, but that doesn't stop me trying on occasion).

Now that's an interesting mix, but a good one as well I would have thought 

I've never been a gardener, although I've quite liked growing veg in the past, but am more then happy to enjoy others hard work. They can be truly relaxing places

I know what you mean but there are quite a few now unused Victorian cemeteries in London that have organised tours for tourists, Highgate and Karl Marx's grave for one.

Cemeteries are a strange thing in some regard. I contracted with a company that in turn contracted with the federal gov't here in the states and I wound up being the sole person maintaining the lawns of the Ft. Sill National Cemetery near here. Same as Arlington, just in Oklahoma. Anyway...  I spent a lot of time out there for a couple years and did a ton of people watching as I worked and the thing that surprised me the most perhaps was that people would use the place as if it were a park. Lots would drive out and use the place as their walking trail. People would come out and fish the ponds (shhh, let's not mention that one....) and just general tourists and stuff. I learned that these places sort of pull double duty as leisure spots.

I wish I still had that gig.

Ive done some caretaking in a Grave yard myself and found it one of those jobs that was relaxing even in its hard work, the " ive done that" and the fact that people were grateful even when they didn't know who did it     and had a set of digs that backed onto an old cemetery, still well looked after, and as such a quiet green space in the city.

not really a simile I wish to occur but ive just read the BBC announcement of the death of Rutger Hauer.   And I have to admit as I read the headline, and saw they were using the pic of him from the end of Blade runner, all I could think of was " like tears in rain, time to die".   I suppose its a better quote than anything from split second

Mrs SP has managed to finish the MDF livery stable that she was working on    and has decided on her next project, the Heresy Dragson  Dragon,  id assembled it and undercoated it a few years ago ( mines in the same condition) silver undercoat and then purple ink washes, for anyone wanting an idea of the beast link here http://heresyminiatures.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=54&products_id=466   its a big ole beast. depending on production time  will depend on weather I can bring it to a show in the near future, the possibility of photos depends on if I can sort out it stuff
