My membership has lapsed, so no magazine and with no SMW this year and therefore no free entry, I'm not renewing it. That 20od notes can stay in the bank and earn a pittance in interest.

Said free entry was the only reason I bothered with IPMS membership.  I doubt my attitude isn't confined to me, so how much cash will they lose in the interim?

As for the pittance in interest ? The way things are going if the BoE reduce the Bank Rate any farther we'll be getting negative interest on our savings accounts, and I'm not joking. It will be the ultimate and final attempt to get us spending again post Covid in order to try and revive the economy. 2021 is going to be an "interesting" year 

I've given up on my Savings Account and put a load into Premium Bonds. That way I stand a small chance of winning something each month and don't lose any money. 

As for the IPMS I've carried on so I get a magazine to glance over every few months.

a few weeks ago I mentioned that id got some 28mm 80s BAOR troops ( https://www.empressminiatures.com/cold-war-baor---early-1980s-131-c.asp )  well the same company, Empress, are going to be getting my Telford money this year..
They've just announced a 1:50 scale Chieftain tank in resin and white metal.  (  https://www.empressminiatures.com/vehicles-41-c.asp )  I want a platoon /squadron /troop  so ill be ordering 3       I don't know if any of our ANZAC members are interested but they do a Centurion in the same scale.

im finding that after a year of not a lot grabbing my attention, its got awful busy.

My games dealer of choice ( games lore, operate out of a village near Telford) had a rerelease of a 40 year old board game.....  so I have the limited ed version of the classic Dune game. I have no idea if itll ever even be cracked open, but I have it and feel better for doing so. 

im still waiting for my empress order to arrive, which will be the above mentioned tanks, the 3 other packs of SLR armed infantry, a GPMG team and 3 mortar teams.  I really then need to pull my desk clean and do summit.

Nice!!!  I am tardy in my commenting but that's good to hear about the Dune game...... whiiiiiich..... sounds REALLY cool. I'm going to have to try to snag one... some how, some way, ... at some point!

2020 was such crap... I had the same thing going on....  things have gotten better lately so maybe they will for you, too!

had a moment of good luck, 
Saturn our resident Tuxedo cat was pawing under Mrs SPs draw unit in the back room, wondering what at I had a swish round with a 12" steel rule, fearing things that go "squeak" .  Turns out he had spotted the fuel tank assembly that id lost off of the Chally 2 I built a wile ago.  so that's gone back in the spare kit so it is complete again    yay!
