I've got to attend for work, so if any fellow whiffers want to come and say hi.
I'll be on the RBL stand, it's bright gold and blue, come and say hello.

I'll mostly be getting sunburnt and waiting for the C17 and then the Vulcan.
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

I was there, and got fried. 33 Celsius! Was worth it for the Vulcan though (finally got to see it fly!!), and the rest was good too, especially the Gripen and Typhoon. Also always lovely to see and hear a Sea Fury purring around the sky. The Chinook display was superb as well. Pictures to follow when I've processed them. Shame about the Globemaster - was looking forward to that, as I've never seen one.

Jeez it was hot!
RAF Chinook was a superb display of flinging several tons of metal around the sky

Eurofighter and Gripen were good if noisy, no way I could wear ear defense doing my job.

Shame they wouldn't let the VC10 fly, at least I had a good look around and it's pretty much the only one of the whole RAF fleet i'd not been on.
Favourite was the 3 USAAF warbirds, Mustang, Skyraider and a P40.

Big shame that the C17 didn't show up, but the Vulcan WAS , AS ALWAYS, SUPERB.

I once "Owned" one  ;D ;)
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Glad to hear the show was good. Please tell me there weren't a bunch of Sea Kings flying about ? Wish I could have caught that show as well, was my original plan.....oh well, maybe next time !
I noticed on the web that the VC10 flew in to Waddington Friday but was gone Saturday ? Wish it would have been there flying....love that old bird
CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!
Vive les Canadiens !
Where's my beer ?

Capt. C. , The VC10 was at Yeovilton on Friday, parked up.

You missed the Commando Helicopter Force, not once but , twice. Two very noisy and long vertical envelopment displays with Commando's, Apache's and Lynx's.

One day they are going to put something in that bomb bay - that will throw people
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

pyro-manic

I'm sure they will, perhaps for the final flights? A big sign or something.

A few more photos up, including these:

A message/fixture in the Vulcan  bomb bay?  This may need moved to a different thread, but can I open the batting with either

A)  A set  of those huge inflatable hammers

B) A variant on the "Jonnie Walker"  whisky slogan "Vulcan,50 years and still going strong"

C)  A photo montage of faces peering down, including Roy Chadwick, Roly Falk, Eric Esler etc.

D) For the final flight, that memorable line from  the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series  "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

Boy bands, aristocracy and Jade Goody's coffin would work for me ;D.
