Competing with the F-16, Mirage F-1 and others during the 70's and 80's, Grumman was successful in selling their F-29 fighter version of the X-29 Forward Swept Wing research aircraft.  It proved very popular with nations looking to replace their F-5's and other lightweight fighters.
One of the users of the F-29 was the Dutch Air Force (KLU).

The model is the 1/72 Hasegawa X-29. It was basically build out of the box with the addition of pylons and weapons. The decals came from an old F-16 kit.

Here is the F-29 along side the original X-29

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Interesting idea, and a much better color scheme than our 4-tone grey...

That is simply gorgeous
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Glenn Gilbertson

Beautifully modelled!

Thats nicely done.  Is the nose on the operational one longer than the experimental one or is that just an optical illusion?

Great! Thanks to enrich this way the F-5 family, somehow!
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]
