A veritable Gospel of vacform knowledge there for sure!

I had that lot along with the T-Al thingies when I bought them (I never could remember their proper name.....) but of course it all got lost, like all instruction sheets. I've saved that as a .txt file now so it WON'T get lost again.

Thanks, Chris as well.  Loads of useful information there.   One question from an Antipodean, what are the mentioned "Sticky-pads"?

Some very good advice. However, I ,having.used the outline method, have found that spraying a coat of paint or primer on the sheet first makes for the best method of preping the parts for sanding. It makes it very easy to see just where you need to sand. It also makes it easier to know when you are done.

They're the things that John supplies to stick the wet-and-dry paper to the T-Al.

They're two lots of double-sided tape mounted back to back with a thin layer of foam between them. The trick bit is that they are waterproof and the foam is THIN, unlike many other similar pads. I've tried various similar pads when my 'Stickies' ran out but without much success as too thick a foam layer lets the wet-and-dry move about relative to the T-Al. The best pads I found were those they supply to stick little wedge mirrors into the corner of the rear view mirrors on cars. The tape is very waterproof but the foam is still a tad thick for perfect sanding.

Is there an alternative to using foam?
