Thanks, dm. The Welly is based on the T.10 postwar trainer schemes but I wanted a grey rather than silver to give it a workhorse look.

Someone on the UAMF suggested PRU blue, so I went with that. I think it really contrasts well with the yellow.

Similarly, the Proctor has the yellow underside of most postwar communications types.

The SI Mk1a has a scheme based on some Swordfish variants I have seen.

I always try to go for something close to what existed at the time, but with my own whatiff flavour.

Great collection! Belated congratulations...

Just finished a "Launcester Lance" of the Maltovian mercenary Air Force.

Part of the same UAMF group build as the Wellington.

Modified (Revell re boxed) Matchbox 1/72 Hawker Fury used.

Oh yes....very nice ! Love the combo of natural metal and green. What technique and material are you using for your wing bracing and aerials ? So thin and taught it really looks the part !

Thanks gents. For rigging I use elasticised EZ Line. For the aerial I used nylon monofilament (invisible mending thread). EZline needs to be cut shorter than the distance you are rigging so it is under tension.

In both cases I use CA and accelerator. The CA goes at the attachment points (usually the gel form rather than liquid glue) and once I hold the line taut against the second attachment point using tweezers I then apply a dab of CA zip kicker/accelerator with a cocktail stick to give an instant bond.

Duly noted...thanks for the tip ! I'll have to try and find some. I used to use, and still use, thread. Looks ok, and adds detail, but way off scale. I have some elasticized thread from WEM somewhere, but since I bought and promptly misplaced it...... :banghead:

Invisible thread is generally pretty easy to find - most haberdashers keep it, but getting hold of fine elastic thread is a total pain in the wahooti fandango. I only found one online hobby shop in Australia stocking it (and promptly bought a roll!). I think you can only get it in black or white though. I'd really like to find silver/grey.

Ok, here's two from Biggles Flies North.

First up, just finished today, the "Rockheed Freighter" flown by Biggles' pal Wilks for his fledgling air freight company "Arctic Airlines":

It's the Special Hobby 1/72 Lockheed Orion 9
Build thread here: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8715&p=172461#p172461

Then, the "Weinkel Transport" flown by the Bad Guys, led by Brindle McBain:

Revell 1/72 Heinkel HE70 Blitz
I built this ages ago but forgot to post it up.

Having read nothing else for large parts of my childhood and still having a large section of bookcase devoted to Capt W.E.Johns best known creation I love these.
It's good to have a theme.

Air Police Proctor
Appears in almost all of the Air Police stories
Build: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=234&t=6095
Novo 1/72 Percival Proctor (and an Oxford die cast 1/76 Wolseley police car)

Note the colours on the Proctor - very prescient considering the colour scheme worn by current National Police Aviation Service helicopters.

Latest built: J-9982
Captured Camel flown by a Hun, shot down by Biggles.

Used an Airfix kit but only the wings and fuselage. Replaced everything else with Roden spares (including cutting off and replacing the turtle deck) or scratchbuilt parts.
