I'm afraid I've never really been into Biggles. I enjoyed the WWI books when I was at school...:

They would have been current affairs then...

;)

Just wait until flights to Australia resume and the "boys" can travel again  ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

By the time that happens they are not going to be boys anymore.  :-\

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

True, but neither will their intended victim client.  ;D

Must admit Australia is on my "list" along with New Zealand and Indo-China and the original plans for the first trip would have been this year. Lord knows when I'll actually be able to get to any of them now. I was hoping for 2022, but we'll see.  :-\

Yeah.  But when you make it here there's always a welcome at stately zen manor.

I forgot to post up the Widgeon. The chaps use one in Biggles Delivers the Goods to fly out and set up a secret airstrip on the edge of Japanese territory and from there use Liberators to sneak out rubber for war supplies from under the nose of the enemy.

The Airfix kit is horrible so I modified and scratchbuilt as much as I could, such as the undercarriage strut assembly from rod.

ID number is fictional and arbitrary.

After that I built a Spad, flown by a cocky American in Spads & Spandaus. The side art is a subtle nod to Biggles' disparaging remark that he probably received his rank because his sister was a Follies Berger dancer....

Revell kit. Terrible quality. Took a lot of fettling to make it decent.
At least it wasn't the Academy kit though. That one is absolute boxed garbage.

Considering how AWFUL the Widgeon kit is, and I've built two of them, you've done an EXCEPTIONAL job there. Super.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Isn't it just! A right horror show. It took a lot of work to reign it in.

I vaguely remember building one of these about 60 years ago.........and not really enjoying the sensation.  You've done a first rate job; WELL DONE

Latest Biggles completion. I've been reading the WW1 stories to my son at bed time so I have a renewed focus on getting the WW1 types built.

In The Decoy, Biggles' wingman Batson attacks a Rumpler with a green tail but is brought undone by Albatros scouts waiting above and using the Rumpler as bait. He makes it back home only to die in Biggles' arms and as a result, Biggles vows revenge.

The Joystick vacform Runpler C.1 was very nicely moulded and really gave me no trouble apart from getting the cast metal engine to sit right.
