Yes. Not one of theirs I'd recommend though. Bit of a pig.

Quote from: Scotaidh on December 30, 2022, 04:54:20 AMI don't do WWI because I suck at rigging so never do it, and thus my bi-planes never look right ... This saddens me, because my dad used to fly a dH Rapide. and though I do have a kit of that a/c I know I can never do it properly ...

Have you ever tried elasticised rigging thread - e.g. uschi? It really does make rigging far simpler.

In 2022 I managed to get 20 kits built, 14 of them being WW1 Biggles builds. I thought I'd put a review post here of all of them.

A pretty productive year!

So much thread!  :o  :o  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

That's why I call ya the master Vandal ..that many builds in one yr and everyone looks great and the amount of time I spent on that spad floaty plane thingy was nothing compared to your builds which are alot smaller.
Bloody impressive stuff mate  ;D

Outstanding year not only for the quantity but so much quality as well

I love looking at your builds as it illustrates not only a fascinating and colourful period of aviation history so well, but reminds me of some classic books as well

Thanks gents. I'm admittedly a bit chuffed with that lot.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Back again.... this time with the Vauxhall D Type staff car of Colonel Raymond from Wing HQ, who regularly visits 266 sqn to give Biggles some new difficult job to do.

The Roden kit was more challenging to build than the D Type Ambulance (70% common sprues) because there was nowhere to hold this without breaking off some tiny fragile part.

Nice.

Given Raymond was a Colonel during 14-18 how old must he have been during the Special Air Police stories?

Very nice!  I don't build models like that - my frustration turns to rage far too quickly, and that's the end of the model.  :)

Look at all the legroom in the back seat!  That's all gone away ...  :D

Where am I going?  And why am I in a handbasket?

Those disc wheels are pretty darned impressive, but I bet their inbuilt gyroscopic forces made it difficult to steer!

The model's terrific though.
