Many thanks to Guy (Old Wombat) for the title to this post ;D

As the title suggests this is exactly what it is ,,it started dew a a End of days campaign on another website i am a member off and took something like 2 to 3 weeks from start to finish.
Now to the build ,,i had the idea of a gun truck ( my fav ) so to the parts boxes i went ,,,pulled out a old Italeri M925 truck with a broken chassis and missing front wheels ..but i knew i had parts from other trucks of the same make,I've had 7 of them in all , i found the front wheels and many other useful bits .
With the amount of parts i found this got me thinking ...if 3 axles are good then 4 must be better ;D and once a little repair work was done i and the rear modified this is what i ended up with .

and on its wheels .

You guys will notice the cab ,,another one of my last minute thoughts but ten years earlier ,,thought this would look quite cool when i was building this truck many years ago and decided to call it Darth Vader cause the hood ended up looking like the lower part of his mask
Then a machine gun ring was mounted ..last minute thought again .

And then something for the dudes in the rear ,,i took the shelter from two shelter trucks and cut them to bits and ended up with this .

Oh the double front wheels where mounted dew to the new much bigger engine which no one can see and the extra weight .
Once that was sorted i got to thinking again ,, bull bars and side protection ..if this thing was to survive it would not only need to be able to smash its way thru things but also need to keep the hordes away from the guns ,,so this is what i came up with ...went thru a heap of Evergreen tubing and sheet styrene for this but i was most pleased with the results, I also fitted machine guns for the driver and passenger ...again the more the better

The front supports for the front bull bars are the spade arms from a Italeri M107 SPG

Side and wheel protection .

Rear end bumper and pusher bars .

Now back to the shelter ,,here it was lined with 1mm sheet styrene to smooth out the inside and the strengthen the whole thing ,,once done it was time to out fit it ..a few seats and ammo people!!! ammo !! ;D
Oh and a few weapons mounts too .

And the mounting of a M60 to see what the fit was like .

Once the roof was built i had another thought  now what would happen if the truck was nearly over fun with a zombie horde ..you would need a heap of fire power to knock them down to weaken the ranks ..so into the parts boxes again cause i knew exactly what i wanted for this ,, Quad 50's

But this created another problem ...how to get to it ,,roof hatch needed gentlemen ,,so i made one out of the rear hatch from a M113 .

Now it was time to arm this puppy .. M60's were chosen dew to the fact that the US military has heaps of those and the ammo is easy to get ..7.62 (308) is plentiful all over the country so those took the rears ,,the front guns were going the be .50's but again the brain went to think mode and those went bye bye ...50cal ammo is not easy to get really unless your in the know so i went with the suggestion of one of my fellow campaigners ,,miniguns ,,only to be used when the poop really hits the fans like the 50's on the roof .

Now this really was a last minute thought ..a rear ramp ..super easy to build and it even works ;D

Right now thats end of part one ..part two to follow shortly ;D

Wow, lots of great work here, especially like the ramp and the cab.  Guess you never have enough ammo cans!  Keep it up.

Now its time for part two ..
Its getting close to painting with this truck ,, most of the building is done but for a few bits here and there ,, first off the cab needs more work ,,some form of protection and a place the put a roof for those rainy days ..i made the frame from scrap copper wire and just plain ol glued it together .

I also mounted some smoke launchers to it ..hell if they can't see ya then escape should be much easier ;D
Now to give you guys a look at the complete thing .

Now it was time to throw some paint at this thing .. i used Humbrol 66 Olive drab for the truck itself and Tamiya olive drab for parts of the shelter to give the impression they ran out of paint .
It was washed and dry brushed with AK Interactive and pastel chalks and heres the result ..also i added alot of extra detail once the painting had been done ,,see how much you can find ;D

And that is that guys ,, all done and ready for the shelf ,total pleasure to build and more than happy with the way it turned out .
All and any comments are welcomed ;D

Nice touch with the shotguns. I'm going to steal a couple of ideas from this.

great concept and nice finish

well done

buzzbomb

All sorts of awesome in that build.. and some clear thinking on just how much ammo a thing like this would use.. great job

The "Zombie Bars" are just great.. terrific work.

Old Wombat

All-over goodness & firepower!

Great thought processes & much faster build speed than I'll ever manage.

sorry no, actually very very nice

That's a great piece of work - I love the shotguns too, and the "just put down" scoped M-16 is a nice touch as well.

Maybe there should be a couple of AC-130-style shovels in the back for getting rid of the brass.... ;)

Hell i am lovin your guys replies ,, paying attention to the details rocks and that sort of thing i am not anal about but do enjoy that side of it alot
Crude mate you can join but everybody has to link the 7.62 ,,even me ;D
Weaver ,, hell no dude  we reload the lot ,,saves having to find new brass and besides ,,Crude needs something to do anyways
OH one thing i didnt mention was its job ,,its a convoy recon truck,,goes ahead of the main convoy and gets rid of any problems ,,some how i think it won't have much trouble doing that .
Can't wait to get into a new place ,,i need to build ,,so many ideas which have to be made ;D
