The predator lost its V-tail, to be replaced by airbrakes, MaK style.

I gave up on trying to drill holes that align and found a piece of aluminum from an old radio set with perfectly neat little rows of pre-drilled holes and cut my parts from that. Superfluous holes were plugged with epoxy.

Next some detailing with what the scrap/junk/garbage can had to offer.

Last pic next to the Hasegawa Maschinen Krieger Falke airbrake that served as a source of inspiration (the difference in size is 1/72 as compared to 1/20).

More to come.

Here is THEM GUNZ!

First the turret for the automated swivel gun:

Yes, that's the sensor turret modified (and detailed with the vertical aiming system) to receive this:

That's a Browning M2 from Mini World. Lovely. But paling when compared to THIS:

That's 6 turned barrels and photoetch, 17 pieces in all! From the Polish company Master. Took me about 2 hours to put together. Not too hard actually, provided you work out the assembly sequence carefully. The result is more than worth it:

M61 Vulcan. Goes in the nose.

Oh yeah, that'll be a mean-looking mother of a drone gunship!

I also have one of those Vulcan barrels assembled.  Was a review for IPMS/USA.  Fiddley little bugger and I was highly chuffed with myself when I finally got it all together.
Mine will probably end up on a M163.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Phil is talking about the M163 Vulcan ADS.

Late but heartfelt congratulations on the silver for your Predator, it IS worthy! (Damn you, Mike Myers!)

A Ma.K Predator? I'm going to be watching this as closely as I can. Ma.K is good!

Are they powered by C Stoff and T Stoff too?  ;) ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Guess I just betrayed my complete ineptitude in the field of armor.   ;D ;D

Thank you for enlightening me!

I'm thinking you might have trouble finding someone to fly said comet ?  Remember, the fuel was so volitial that they often exploded upon landing !!!  I'm thinking that the vibration of the gun firing would be enough to set it off !!!   I would recommend you use a Horten instead.  Think what it could do in a high speed pass on a tightly packed group of B-17s ??????

No matter. A little threadbash! LOL

Time for a little update. The turret and gat gun are painted and the fuse can now be buttoned up.

For the metal finish, after spraying it mat black, the gun was treated with graphite powder from a pencil lead.

The air-brakes were primed.

The landing gear had to be done from scratch to accomodate the gunship's VTOL capability.  ;D

Bits of tubing and paperclips with plastic sheathing and voila!
