Ok, some of my favorite are the Calvin and Hobbs ones on building models but found a few more in Facebook so thought, why not start a new thread.

I remember a Garfield from about 20 years ago where Jon started building a tall ship model, got totally frustrated with it, threw everything in the box, shook it up, and magically got a perfect model out of it.

The Calvin and Hobbes one reminds me of a book 'Conrad's War'.  I read it when I was a kid and the details are fuzzy, but Conrad ends up taking part in WWII in the model Lancaster that he's built, not that skillfully and ends up getting shot down because bit's of it are gummed up with glue.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

There is, of course, this classic, from Winston Rowntree's very wonderful Subnormality: http://www.viruscomix.com/subnormality.html

And this one, just for the Whiffers:

Next to the 'bigger boat', Tom Selleck on the poster of Raiders of the Lost Ark, that's attention to detail! ;D

Spooky: just as you were posting about "attention to detail", I was re-reading this one: http://www.viruscomix.com/page567.html   ;)

(too big to post, sorry)
