Thanks everyone for the warm welcome yesterday, it was a privilege to join you and thanks for the very positive reaction to the models. It was a great show and IPMS Avon are to be congratulated on their organisation and the new venue.
Great to meet Mike , Trevor , Kit and the others and spend time dicussing Whiffery, I know many people think we're not quite sane ,but after seeing some of the wargamers yesterday I'm convinced we're saner than them .
For anyone interested I've just posted up the "Supermarine Eastfire" here,
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,37499.0.html

I hadn't posted it before because I wanted to debut it at the show yesterday.

Andrew

P.S. I almost forgot , I met the legend that is Mike McEvoy.

Most of them think we're totally INsane!  ;D

My own Club's Secretary's face was a picture as he passed by the SIG stand and recognised me. THEN he looked at the models and was just aghast, he's definitely NOT a believer! I'll be taking the Eagle B1 Special to the club meeting on Thursday and I'll probably get slung out as it's at his house.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Just taken another look at the photos and it was really nicely laid out - really good symmetry.  Well done guys.

Lots of good stuff on display there!  Love the TSR.2 with turrets!

Would be cool to see more pics of the in-flight pusher-prop Ar E. 555, the Ar E. 555 with engines in the wing roots and the rainbowy F-19.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Glad you like it, see here for more about the build :-

I'll take some piccies of the 'mirror finish' F-19 and post them. It was built by my late friend Rob Hill and he had it on his desk at BAe Brough for some years. He was THE cockpit lighting guy at BAe, maybe even the world as Lockheed Martin 'borrowed' him for some F-16 upgrades.

Whoa, that one flew right past me.  :o Didn't know it was yours. That's what I get for not checking the Theme Builds often enough.  :banghead:

The Bling'd Stealth was a sight.
Mind you Kit had it hidden at the back of the display.

What's next a rainbow decorated F35-B?
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

FAB1 Pink?

Is there any other sort of pink?  ;D

Is that the same shade as Hereford Cowboy Land Rover pink?

Steel Penguin

almost pejorative pink, but just the good side of the line.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

That's a dustier pink from memory, more very dilute iron oxide primer and hemp mixture, 10% primer 90% hemp
