Round Two models own MPC, AMT and Polar Lights now, and have an aggressive programme of re-releases.

Look what's up for November: this'll screw up the collectors!

I like the Space Seed Dio

So what if it's snap together.  If it's done right, it should be a nice set

Unfortunately it doesn't sound like they are doing any accuritizing of the original kit.  Was really hoping for a new or at least upgraded version.
Still might get one and try to do the fixes needed.

Is this the same as the Airfix one from days of yore?

If it's the ex-MPC kit, and the signage indicates it is, then it would be that one.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

According to the Catacombs Space:1999 Merchandise Guide, both Eagle and Hawk were originally released by MPC, then re-boxed by Airfix.

Cool - but I wish they were actual 1/72nd scale instead of the "almost but not quite" scale they are.

Fantastic machine. A series I was allowed to stay up and watch but in Spanish. Love to see it again, and in English .

The scale of any Eagle model, even the filming ones, is a bit of a moot point anyway, because the proportions of the inside sets never did match the outside of the models. There have been three sets of plans published for the Eagle, all of which have adopted different methods of resolving this, resulting in claimed lengths of anywhere from 76 feet to 102 feet.

There's a good discussion of the various issues here, by the guy who drew the latest set of plans: http://eagle.space1999.net/

The important question is who is going to stock these new releases and at what price?
