Looks pretty good!

I was always fond of this one:

Good enough for me, i'm sure it would look good on any scheme!

I would have put a faring over the engine under the tail fin & extended the spine (to link the fin & the faring) to add a bit more strength & stability to the tail fin under high stress loads.

Other than that, she's looking pretty good, dude!

Can't wait to see her schemed up!

If you are still looking for a colour scheme, why not go for a truly fictional one. A nice metallic blue, green or dark  silver-grey finish with Spectrum insignia? Call it the Archangel? Sort of a much improved multi role version of the Angel interceptor? I have a 1/32 Revell F-16XL for this purpose.  It will have twin fins, extended wings and modified & strengthened wheeled undercarriage. I think your model would look stunning done in a colour scheme like that. With the added sticky-out bits & other enhancements your F-16 has a certain futuristic appearance. For my own Archangel I'd thought about using True Earth metallic filters over a multi toned blue or green base.

funny thing is, as a modelling subject the F-16 actually bores me rigid!! Well, at least the basic bog standard one does. I can however see a number of Kinetic's 1/48 F-16XLs ending up in my stash and, possibly on this site!

The Spectrum idea is a nice one, but as I mentioned in the opening post, the aircraft will be carrying insignia from a unit in a fiction I'm writing. I have insignia already printed out for it that I'll be using. It similarly already has a back-story too. I appreciate the input though, and I look forward to seeing your F-16XL done up in that way too.

And I can agree on the F-16XL that's coming out too. I'd love to build one of those, and modify it in a similar manner.
I can't imagine building a regular F-16 - although I do like them - but I see them as a great starting point for lots of modifications and alterations.

 That will teach me to read before I post!!   My own F-16XL will appear here sometime in 2015! Meantime, keep up the good work. Looks so much more interesting than a "real" F-16

Managed to get back to the workbench after christmas, and I've got some work done on this, alongside my Corsair.

A mixed bag of some of the ordnance for both aircraft. The F-16 will be toting AMRAAMs, 9X sidewinders, Mavericks and two big LGB's, along with the sensor pods and a gasbag on the centreline. The HARMs are for the Corsair, as are the other sidewinders and AMRAAMs

I've finally used my airbrush after almost seven months of having it, and I began by giving the underside a coat of light grey. The rest will be an arctic aggressor style scheme, though with a few of my own touches, and some red flashes on the wingtips, ailerons, and rudder. I'll also do the radome in a dark grey too.
More coming soon - I've got a couple of free weeks, and I'm planning to get as much done as I can, without making it seem like work.

I realised I hadn't got around to posting these yet! She's been in the paint shop for a while.

I had to do a lot of masking... I'm still not convinced that this airbrush malarkey is actually any easier than hand-brushing.

The horizontal tails, fin, and wingtips will probably want another shot of red, and then it's just the nosecone which will be flat black. Then I've just got to sort out the nozzle, and pick out details and correct overspill from the masking, which seems almost inevitable - despite the masses of masking I did, I still had loads of overspray to correct. Still, this is the first time I've actually used my airbrush to any extent, and I'm learning from it slowly. Hopefully some of those lessons can be applied to the Corsair, and any of my future projects. One main one will be to get an airbrushing stand...

There was supposed to be more of a contrast between the two tones of grey, but it didn't quite come out - I was hoping for more of a gunship grey/light grey/black contrast, but my knowledge of Tamiya paints wasn't really good enough, and I'm not willing to strip it all off and try again at this point. Besides, the subtle difference is kind of nice.
Having to touch up all the overspill has spoiled the finish a little bit though, sadly, but we'll see how it looks once it's all dried out and in the daylight. Whatever happens, I'm not likely to repaint the whole damn thing again. That will virtually be the third time...

Once the painting is over (incidentally, probably the bit of modelling I enjoy the least. Especially on this A/C), then it's just attaching and painting the landing gear, weapons, and bay doors. I'll probably panel-line/weather/decal inbetween that as well. Hopefully I can get bench-time in during the week, and break my self-imposed rule of not modelling on 'school nights' (what I call work nights), and under artificial light, as I'd like to get this finished soon!
