The Annual Australian Army, Chief of Army's History Conference is coming up in the first week of October in Canberra.

Last year, the conference was cancelled because of budget cuts but this year, it has been reinstated.

The topic for this year's conference is "Armies in Maritime Strategy".   Details are here, if anybody might be interested in attending.   You can also download each year's conference proceedings.  They are well worth reading.

I have been attending since 1999 and each conference has been well attended and often thought provoking.   The emphasis is on the historical record and the military "art", rather than as the War Memorial conferences which are on commemoration.   I can heartily recommend it, for those with an historical bent.  I invariably learn a great deal at each conference.
