Always liked the Ursinus although the propeller looks a little on the short side ?

As for the B.20 am I the only one who thinks the float struts look incredibly fragile ?

Chris, I think that large spinner makes the blades look shorter.   I think the Ursinus' float system is quite a neat one, tucks up well.

As for the B-20,  I suspect that's a wartime touched up photo.  It has that "fuzzy" look about it.

Agree with you about the float system, was impressed with it when I first saw it a few years ago - probably in a "Cross & Cockade". As for the prop. I know what you mean and I suppose any longer and it would be in danger of hitting the waves.

There are some really nice clear shots of the struts in British Experimental Combat Aircraft of WWII   and they are probably scaffold pole size or just above. So quite hefty. I'll have to read the chapter. The crew egress/ingress was closed by the float when in flight btw so I hope there was an emergency exit ?

The Do 212 is a neat looking aeroplane, but I didn't know it was available in model form, who did the kit please ericr?

It looks really good in YELLOW too.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Great build .
A fellow Whiffer suggested a Short Sunderland and Lockheed Constellation combo .I've got both kits in my stash .If you were to cut off the top part of the Sunderland lower the Connie without it's wings and keep its tail section . The EC-69 AEW is almost complete ,l could lose the wings (C-130 with Griffon engines ).I have two built spares &repair Sunderlands and use the better one of the
two ,not as easy as it looks .

Never heard of it...thought it was a creation so I went wiki. Amazing machine, worth researching no doubt. I suppose if Angelina Jolie can do it.... ;D

Well I managed to slice the roof off a built Airfix Short Sunderland ,right down to the cockpit floor. The vertical tail removed. The Heller C-69 is missing its wings. The front end fits snuggly ,but there is an issue at the rear. The idea is to use very thin Plasticard to reshape both fuselages. So the Connie looks as though it is resting on top of the Sunderland .I have removed the Sunderland wing stubs and will reattatch the new wing to the Connie.I won a vacform Shackleton on eBay and it has metal propellers so I will be using them for this build .Just need to think up a suitable undercarriage and floats .
