Let's Take a Tour around CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick !

I meant to post this a few years back. We stopped in Fredericton for the night whilst travelling to NL for a job. So of course, your intrepid Canadian correspondent had to go to the local military base to have a look around !

As a disclaimer, a guy near the hall where they fight the range fires told me it was an 'open base' and I was welcome to wander at my leisure !

This line laying truck was pretty neat to see. Took a whole whack of detail shots if anybody would like them, as I think it would make an interesting model conversion someday....here's a sample :

I should have started to get nervous....

There were lots of Leos and other armour in buildings and being worked on...but at this point I was feeling edgy creeping around the base !

And this is where I actually got myself in trouble

Oops....seems the boys get a little nervous when the place suddenly lights up as some civilian is points his camera at you and the flash goes off.....



At this point a Commissionaire escorted me back to my truck and gave me directions to the MP station to hand my camera over to them for a little look. I must have taken a wrong turn as I somehow ended up back at my hotel !

Thanks Kit ! I should have taken more....the museum at the back ( where the wrecker truck was ) had a bunch more CDN and foreign stuff....
