The Wooksta!

For it's age, the Matchbox kit is really nice.  Got a few tucked away in various stages.  Always did want to do a later one with retractable gear.

IIRC, the S&M ones were about 15 notes when they came out in 2016, as I'd got one of each boxing, mainly for the decals.  I also got a CMR one for the same price at the same time. Really nice kit.

The MN'Box Provost was one of their better ones for sure, but The Trenches were always a bit of a turn-off for me.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Wooksta!

Just raised panel lines on the Provost.

I must be thinking of a different kit then.  :(

Who else did a Provost?

The Wooksta!

Airframe did a vacform one.

Matchbox one is from 1976. Very restrained raised panel lines but the canopy framing is somewhat heavier.

No, I have no freaking clue what it is either...

A section of wing from some 4-engined Italian bomber?
Looks like they took the idea from a movie... ;)

It's some sort of ground effect vehicle. I tried to look up any RW info on it but I didn't find anything. Might be just a paper project. It would be nice to know a time frame at least.

So it's a surface effect craft in effect?

Yup, a ground effect torpedo boat.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

There was an interesting Bellanca version of the same idea with what appeared to be the front fuselage of a B-17. Now that would be a kitbash!

I could quite fancy one myself................or else digging through the imperial grot box spares collection to see if I can produce one from sundry bits and pieces.
As to what it is????  It's a twin engined, torpedo carrying THING  with no visible means of steering. Obviously a product of Caproni's lunatic fringe department.
Being possessed of a fertile imagination, I have a mental image of Il Duce standing on a shore-side saluting base near Taranto  whilst a ?squadron? flotilla? unit?  of THINGS roars past in a cloud of spray and aero engine exhaust fumes;  with huge tricolori flying from them
