On that note, I guess today I learned that the RAN had Skyhawks. I had no idea....   RAN is a weak spot in my military knowledge but it still seems surprising that I wasn't aware of this already.  :unsure:

For your edification;

Very basic rundown of front line aircraft (excluding helicopters);

Sea Furys & Fireflys
Sea Venoms & Gannets
Skyhawks & Trackers

A much more comprehensive list is to be found here: http://www.adf-serials.com/ran.htm

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That should keep you busy for the next decade or so anyway.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That's the plan.
Of course plans change and I may come up with a different idea for any specific kit... :mellow:

My mojo is coming back. I've got the urge to build again. Getting ready for Telford as it is just 5 weeks away.

See, 4 or 5 pints with me and your back up and running again  ;)

Here's my workbench as of this morning. Moody grey under a harsh sky  ;)

The armour is looking interesting. :thumbsup:

If it's RW, it's nothing I've ever heard of/seen before; so I'm assuming whiffery is involved? :unsure:

It's Pegasus Hobbies Jaguarundi tank.  From what little I know, a real Porsche design for a light tank.  More here:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's the set. Very simple build, more like a wargaming piece than a full-on kit. I'd like a couple more of these if I can find some at the right price, or maybe other '46 tanks. Pegasus didn't do that many but I have seen some from other makers.

Started painting the tanks last night. Using AK Interactives for the first time in the red top dropper bottles and I am concerned. The label does say For Brush and Airbrush and I have shaken them hard. It's a clean new brush too.

The base colour of yellow sand (Dunbkelgelb?) is rather thin and watery, very blotchy in actual paint cover. I'm assuming it's either in need of several coats or I got a bad bottle. The other two bottles of dark red/mud and forest green brush out very well giving a good look in tests.

I'll give it a second and third coat over the next two nights to see what happens. It may not be too bad if the grey undercoat shows thru, I can blame it on 1945 paint shortages!

zenrat

Yellow's a bar steward for coverage and being sold for air brushing it'll be thinner anyway.
I always put a white undercoat under yellow.

Yeah, I should have thought of that when priming. Keep bashing it on I guess.

Really wanted to get the tanks done this week before I go to the Isle of Wight for the weekend, might not get them done at this pace.

For some reason pink works the best, as long as it's not a "shocking pink".

Some of these dropper bottled paints can be very thin if you are brush painting as they are intended to be sprayed. They will need a few coats.

That's why I like Hataka, they do a red top series intended for spraying and a blue one for brushing  :thumbsup:
