It won't be long and in 1-2 months, I should be starting my LHD amphibious hospital ship which I have a thread here: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,35600.0.html

......but....I'm stuck on a paint scheme.  :banghead:
Option 1 - I can go with an all white ship with red crosses on the hull.
Option 2 - All white ship with red crosses AND a green stripe going down the length of the hull.

All the white will be "broken up" so to speak as there will be a dark grey flight deck, yellow flight deck tractors, lifeboat interiors and life raft canisters painted bright orange, and other parts of the ship and equipment will have different colors.
Now here's another conundrum: Bright orange life raft canisters don't look too visually appealing in my mind in Option 2 next to a long green stripe on the ship's hull.

So......which paint scheme should I go with below? I can't decide.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

I like the green stripe. But I wonder how a couple of diagonal green stripes on the forward hull would look.

I would keep the life boat canisters gray, as they are in real life.  There are a ton of them each side of the flight deck.  Orange would detract from the model.

As a Hospital ship it might be an idea to add commercial life boats, plus their dayglo orange should stand out

The actual life boats would be orange while the canisters for the inflatables would be white or gray. Then there could be boats for going from ship to shore which could be white or any other color.

Both Dayglo orange & white life raft canisters are used on civilian ships but, while I think that the Dayglo would be more visible &, hence, easier to find for people unfamiliar with the ship, I, also, think white would be too hard to find on an all-white ship. Therefore, despite (iirc) being the one to suggest Dayglo in the first place, I would suggest that you go with grey, which would, in some ways, go with the military thinking of maximum standardisation.
