Greetings

I'm looking for the tank/rail combo units from the inner hardpoints on an F-15.  The ones that hold the wing tanks with missile rails hooked to them.  With the tanks preferably.  I'm betting Somebody has built a clean F-15 around here, so they might have a set kicking around.  I've got one F-15C model, but I like mine loaded for bear, and I want to use them on a different bird that was supposed to get similar rails.

Throw me a PM to make sure I catch the message.

darthspud

would that be the lower fuselage conformal tanks and weapon rails that fit to them?

I may have a set from an old monogram kit, i'll check and let you know.
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

darthspud

Have checked
Only got an early Hobby Boss kit F15
LOOKS LIKE IT HAS FUEL TANKS FOR CENTRELINE AND TWIN 'WINDER RAILS ON THE INNER WING HARDPOINT.

Any good to you?

Could we have a pic or two please?  Just to eradicate confusion!

Sauragnmon

First look, found this one.  Perfect example of what I'm talking about.  It's like a cruciform rail with the tank on the bottom and two launch rails branching off.

Those should highlight the payload points I'm looking for.  I'm also looking for the tanks as well.  I heard the YF-23 was supposed to have similar payload on its inner wing hardpoints, and thus my situation - I want to build one, as they say, Loaded for Bear.  Appreciate the help gentlemen.

Spud's just agreed to send me the rails, now the next situation would be the tanks.  Mildly more possible, as not everybody wants to hang the gas bags all over the place.

Are they particular to any specific F-15 version?

I ask because I have an old Monogram kit of the prototype that I've been 'converting' into the 'Streak Eagle' for about 20 years, and that may have some surplus tanks with it. I say 'may' as I haven't seen the box for the last 5 years!  :o

I think the tanks that are being looked for are the same as the more modern ones supplied in the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4 kits. I have several spare tanks around if you still need them.

Far as I know, Kit, they're standard across the board.  I'm not sure about if/where they've been used on other aircraft.  Could well be Phantom tanks, I'm sure they've been used on other aircraft, I just don't know which ones.  I think they're the 600gal tanks, but I'll be damned if I know for sure.

Captain Canada

Let me know if all goes according to plan....I have one in the stash and pretty sure I have all that stuff. Doesn't a Hasegawa weapons set have some F-15 rails in it as well ?

Although the big center tank on the F-4 looks a bit like the F-15 wing tanks, they are really a different shape as it's got a more pointed front and rear.  I've read somewhere that the F-22 is using F-15 tanks though ---

Gondor

I have just checked my spares box. I have Eight complete 1/72 scale Hasegawa F-15 drop tanks that I currently have no need for.
