I'm sat in my hotel with no company but Harry the road trip Harrier, and now I'm thinking Harrier.

I have a 350 scale Tamiya Tirpitz that's half built, and I think I have even gone as far as cutting out a large styrene flight deck for it. Somewhere I have a drawing of my idea. Now that has me thinking about all the boat projects I have on the go......

Now I'm thinking Shackleton. Hmmmm....what to do ? Defo a twin engined variant. A full set of props/ engines for a Sunderland. An earlier tail-dragger. A late model RCAF SAR bird.

Ugh.

I've had various ideas for an updated Sunderland. Turboprops, either four small or two big, squared off wing and empennage tips, searchlight, radar nose, MAD boom at the rear.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Not a big fan of the amphib idea......such a big bulky bird already, the amphib gear on such an a/c would have been heavy and cumbersome.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
