Perhaps because the original 3 were pure escapism, just a bunch of action, a ripping yarn, and easily understood heroes and heroines. That's precisely what Lucas wanted. Then it tried to take itself seriously, and whether it succeeded or not is a matter of personal preference. I like the whole lot, but that's probably because I view almost anything like that as just entertainment, without reading more into it. If you want to view anything through an artistic eye, go ahead, but not me. Probably why I only see about one film a year. 

I think you hit the nail on the head there Dave, all the latest movies all seem to take the originals entertainment factor way to seriously in the remakes or sequels, I used to like the light humour and everything they did back then.  I don't watch any of the remakes or sequels these days

A sudden moment of inspiration/madness led to a brief search on the internet, and I found the following F6F-5K by one Wilfried Eck:



Apparently that scheme was used for both drones and target tugs, so it could be either.

Shouldn't take long. (Yeah, where have we heard that before?)

Yep, quite attractive. But if it was used for both drones and target tugs, it must have been worrying for a tug pilot, hoping that the incoming aircraft knew which one you were!

It is a lovely scheme, but as you say, slightly disconcerting for the pilot of a tug

Put our new canoe in the water for a few hours on Sunday, a short trip down a lazy river in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario.



Found some sandhill cranes, Antigone canadensis, on a nest.





Bald eagle, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, soared high above



Believe it or not, there is a bird in the picture. But the American bittern, Botaurus lentiginosus, is a master of disguise. With the streaked neck and breast looking like the reeds it hides in, it stretches its neck up and becomes almost invisible.
