The ancient Airfix Sea Hawk. A great kit to give a kid for a starter, and a wonderful nostalgia build. If you haven't built one of these you really should, if only to feel like a kid again. I doubt that the best modeler in the world could make a prize-winner from it, but I'm sure many of us have had a go at it.

It's not a terrible kit.
I added jet exhausts from aluminium tube and did mine in RAN FAA colours.

Needs a bit of touch-up at the rear, but the masking worked for the bracing, nothing bled under the tape.

What the #%$& am I doing wrong with my home-made decals?  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I put a few coats of Micro Superfilm on them, and they curl up and away as if they have an allergy to paint. Maybe I'll try putting a final coat of varnish on them to see if that will stiffen them. If that fails I'll add Viagra to the water I soak them in.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Look at that flag on the nose. Horrid. Same with the fin flash, but I've managed to stick some of it down with white glue.

Well, at least the cat is out of the bag on the markings.
