My ex Mrs dealt with our Dobberman puppy wonderfully when she did that. Janet put whatever Sally had stolen and chewed/shredded into her food bowl instead of dinner. There was a battle of wills for a while as Sally threw it out and Janet put it back in. Sally soon twigged and stopped stealing/chewing things. I didn't get involved
