London Plastic Modelling Show 8th December Islington Design Centre

I may well pop along to this just to see what it's like. All depends what public transport is like on the day. If there are any "Bus Replacement Services" I'll be staying at home.

Anyone else thinking of popping along ?

I might come along just to see if it's worth it for future reference. I heard Little Cars guy say the costs of parking and travel times and stands were too much but others may be there.

Want to get back to the Imperial War Museum now it's reopened after the refurbishment.

Didn't realise the refurb was done, Nick.  Trip report when you've been please!

Thirded

The list of traders is in this months SAM. Hannants are there so I can get some stuff from then I want and save postage.

Checked my trains and at the moment they are running so it looks like London Bridge & then the Northern Line to the Angel. Plan to be there for a couple of hours, probably in the morning

Apparently the IWM will not be finished until summer next year, they've reopened after some major works earlier this year. I'll wait till they are finished.

Ta Nick.

Often thought sticking the IWM in the original Bedlam (Bethelem Hospital) was an inspired idea

Right I'm going on Sunday and using my £1 off voucher from SAM.

I'll be there about 11.00am providing transports running on time and I can find the place. Probably be there a couple of hours or so

Work has been rather turbulent what with re-organisation and jobs and responsibilities moving around for some weeks and for a few more weeks to come so......tomorrow I am a wage slave and will miss the show.  Full report with pics would be appreciated, though.

Full report certainly but I'm not lugging my camera I'm afraid. Must admit I'm not sure what to expect

Well I went and to be honest I wasn't expecting much at all but I quite enjoyed it. Met up with Nick and the Coventry lads were there with a stand so it was good to chat with them. A few of the major traders were either no shows or hadn't intended to go, to be honest I don't know and don't want to speculate as to which interpretation is correct. Those who were there were doing a good trade however. There were a few specialised traders including a superb stand from Squires where you could get any tool/material you could wish for. Extremely well laid out stand and a company I will be using in future. It was never crowded which meant you had time to look at things and chat with the people displaying them. Quite a few wifs as well, possibly as high as 10%/15% of the aircraft models on display.

Interestingly Guideline had their Model Soldier show on the Saturday so I hope they had a good weekend. Will it be on again in the summer ? Your guess is as good as mine.  On the down side parking is poor and expensive especially with Arsenal at home. On the up side public transport is good and there are some good pubs nearby

Right I took my old pocket camera so apologies for the quality of the pictures but I'm afraid that my dodgy eye caused a few problems with the imaging, therefore it was a case of point, shoot and hope for the best !
