35 year-old "whiffer" - Airfix DHC Beaver in RCAF colors.

This model is over 35 years old. I built the Beaver as a floatplane and decided to do it as an RCAF machine, because I had some odds-n-ends of Canadian decals in the scrap-box.

This was in the days before internet and Google Images. I had no idea of what the RCAF Beavers actually looked like, so this was my best guess. It is Testors Silver, Red, and Black. The Monogram P-51B drop tank is for carrying survival gear when the plane is used for Search and Rescue.

It is still one of my favorite builds.

Judging by the serials those are old Dakota decals no ? Here's a pic I found a few years back of Beavers in the pond behind the hangars at Harmon AFB, Stephenville, Newfoundland. Probably my favourite Beaver shot.
