You really need a model of him in a pith helmet and long shorts exploring Egypt...... ;)

I did a 1/72 scale model of my Dad dressed like that, posed in front of his Audax, for his 80th birthday pressie. The Audax was the only biplane I've ever built!

Kit, I'm getting a mental image of your dad, goggles over his eyes, pith helmet jammed down on his head, shouting "Tally-ho!", wheeling over to attack the Iraqi ground forces.

That's not far from the truth either, but I don't think they actually wore the pith helmets while flying.  ;D

They flew the bombed-up Audaxes off from Hibbaniya  before dawn and went out to the south and landed in the desert. Then as the sun came up they flew back over the Iraquis at low level, dropped the bombs and landed back on the playing fields while chaos reined behind them.

Some very interesting work here, I'll keep watching this space to see what new interesting ideas you get up to.

Scaleorama'd 1/100 Zvezda Dusty has paint.

And i've commenced whiffing a Valom Salmon.

Handley Page Henfield is getting a Warhol inspired camo scheme.

Not really a Whiff but I knocked up a box of doughnuts and a road atlas today.

It's the interior for my 2014 Scale Cannonball Run Buick Skyhawk (hence the huge fuel cell).  I figured a large format atlas would make navigation easier (and I got inches and centimetres confused while resizing images).
And you can't ever have too many doughnuts.

Put the first paint on the Moskito today and the basic top and bottom colours on the Henfield are on.  A trip to the LHS is in order to restock though before I commence on the other colours.

Well, at least it didn't result in a space probe crashing on to the surface of the body it's supposed to be observing...

And, having navigated ambulances in the pre-GPS days, large format maps are a good thing

Big map books are always better in my book - less page turning and less chance of your destination being on the crease or edge (although sods law always applies...).

Update time with crappy phone pics to maintain some pretence of suspense.
;D

The Landwasserflakpanzer is coming along.  Ammo feed and brass removal lines are sorted and I glue small parts to it when I get a few spare minutes so it is gradually developing a pleasing fussiness.
I think I need to make some side armour over the tracks though.

The Dusty Scaleorma is now a Thomas To-17 Thunderfly.  Words came out of my fingers last night and wrote a wonderful load of bull even if I say so myself.  All that remains is some light washing, weathering and painting/attaching a drop tank.

The Moskito is in the paintshop getting it's PDRV Archipelago camo scheme applied.  Slightly different colours again but the same basic plan.

Desert Fulmar has a tropical filter installed.  This took a bit of thinking.  I was originally going to put one on each side of the radiator by extending the MkII inlets but decided instead to go for one big one hanging out the bottom.  I've also been experimenting on the wing & tail seams with a variation on the "no sanding filler technique" and I must say it seems to work really well despite using metho instead of nail varnish remover.

The Henfield paint job has been subject to a rethink and while the colours remain the same it's design has changed from DPM style to a more traditional aircraft style.

The Salmon has had inlet trunking scratched up to prevent daylight shining through it and a replacement exhaust deflector part has been made but anymore work on the fuselage awaits completion of the cockpit.  This involves PE parts so the tweezer catapult will be in action.
I also built the contra prop.  I paid careful attention to lining parts up, centralising holes and redesigning shafts and bosses and got it altogether and rotating.  But it was (to quote a review of the kit on the interweb) "like a crankshaft" so it will be glued in place and will never move again.

Captain Fat Hamster is nearly finished and when he is ready for a face i'll gird my loins and do the Scooby Gangs' at the same time.

On the not so Whiffy front the Skyhawk is nearly finished which is just as well as the deadline is Monday 1st Dec.  Work has also restarted on a Phantom 1960 Edsel which I have christened a Starcruiser and has a rather nice 2 tome green flamed paint job.
Theres also a half finished 4 banger BMW Dixi drag car to finish, a massively modified but possibly too subtle custom F100 to get on with and a Doc Neeson tribute build to resurrect.  As well as all the other started but stalled projects like a Challenger 1, Hemi Hydro, Monte Carlo Panel Delivery, rust bucket slant 6 Plymouth Duster and Toyota Hemi Lexcen.
Oh, and a Meyers Manx and an FJ40 Landcruiser to build for next years Tumut and Ballaaraatt NNL theme classes.
Hmmm, going to be a busy year 2115...

I like to do something creative every day if I can.  It keeps the juices flowing as it were.  As well as all the models i'm making a frame for a bathroom mirror from old Jarrah floorboards and then i've got the carport to rebuild due to it's having had a large piece of tree fall on it.

Finished the Skyhawk today.
I'll set up the Photo Booth and take some pics tomorrow.

Old weathered boards can make great picture frames.
