Here's the new kit I just started.

The box:

What I found inside:

There are 2 sprues with the main 'body parts':

3 sprues of additional parts:

1 sprue for the pilot figures:

A Haseg-quality instruction sheet (with a MaK flavor):

Decal sheet:

And a card with the variants proposed, 2 on each side:

It is interesting to note the the card is the 'card file' type with a tab on the edge, which shows that there should be more such cards in other Haseg kits to make up a file of them.

Detail are a bit of a letdown, especially for that scale. Being used to 1/72, I know of kits in that scale with more details. Nothing that the dedicated detailer can't remedy, however, but for sure there'll be work to do. Talking of which, let's buckle down!

Cool!
I started mine too, a couple of months ago. No topic yet, because I'm not quite sure yet what I'm going to do to it, although I've got some ideas and I even started sawing things off ;D
Are you going to build it out of the box?

MichelC

Hey, another Falke modeler! I just love this kit!

What exactly do you mean OOB? Is there after-market around for this kit?

I think the question should be: how much are you going to modify it? ;D

I've got one of these too - the version with the "Excimer" laser cannon. Not quite sure what to do with it yet - I might just go to town detailing and do a flashy custom paint scheme, or I might do something completely off the wall. 1:72 anti-grav gunship?

I've also got the 1:35 Lunadiver, which looks like a lot of fun too. ;D

Yeah, right, sure. Was it 28 or what was the number of kits Kow Yokoyama used to kitbash the Falke in the first place? So why not add a few more?  ;D ;D ;D

To me the Falke is a nice piece of creativity as it is so I'll just stick to what's in the box. Of course, detailing is another matter. I always like to splurge on that. Perhaps open up some panels too.  ;D

I personally prefer the gatling gun version of the Falke rather than the laser job. That's what I use for the Predator gunship too, you might have noticed.  ;)

That's what I meant to say, yes ;-)

Nice, easy kit to build. The fun is, really, in the painting & finishing.

I have both versions & I, also, prefer the gatling gun variant. Point to note is that you can build both with the laser gun boxing, thus having either a spare BIG gatling gun or a neat part for kitbashing.

I'd post a pic or two of my not quite finished beast but I'm having trouble accessing Photobucket (probably my computer or my slow internet access).

Enjoy the build, Michel!

I had been wondering about that - I've not had a chance to dig the kit out and pore over the sprues as yet. I had hoped so, but then I'm not hugely familiar with Hasegawa's boxing strategy (ie whether they just add extra sprues like some manufacturers or remove unneeded parts like others do). Good to know either way.

Yep, the excimer Falke has got both weapons.

I'd love to see your build! Sticky Finger, Guy, bring it on!

OK, looks like I didn't take many photo's of this build - just a few of the cockpit. I'll have to take more when I get home but here are what I have for now;

There were some gaps behind the seat that I didn't like, so I fixed them!

PS: Sorry about the poor photography - not my forte, really.

Thanks for posting! This is a great looking pit. The seatbelts look extremely realistic. Where're they from? I also like the sockets on each side of the seat (oxygen?). How'd you do those?

O2 & g-suit were my thoughts, iirc.

Good question! I think it was a couple of pieces of string & a couple of bits of styrene tube, cut & painted as I felt appropriate :-\

I haven't actually looked at it for over 2 years, now  - I really should finish it & the carrier/launch vehicle I was going to build to display it on.

The harness is a combination of thin ribbon, hand-crafted styrene & foil parts.
