Looks  potentially entertaining.

(Mods please move this if I've put it in the wrong place.)

True flight or surface effect?  The Cumbrian Lake Monster...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Looks like a genuine flight to me from the pictures halfway down. http://waterbirdproject.com/
I've put my name down for a £3 Turnbuckle! I think they might struggle as there's a huge gap between the cheapest item at £3 and the next up at £30 or £60.

There was a lot of flying on or from Windermere, I knew about the Shorts Sunderland factory at Troutbeck and the various speedboat records but not this aspect of aviation history. The Royal Navy Air Service even had a training airbase at Cockshott Point near the ferry.
There was a rumour of Sunderlands being sunk there postwar to avoid the cost of breaking them up and a plan to find and raise them but this seems to have been wishful thinking like the Spitfires in Burma.

That's pretty cool. As long as all that hard work survives the attempt !
